Deciding to celebrate his 25 year association with ECM records, Norwegian guitarist Terje Rypdal assembled a sort of dream band for himself this time out. The seven piece ensemble features players he's worked with over the years. On keyboards is Christian Egger, who served as conductor on this album's predecessor, IF MOUNTAINS COULD SING. The bass-less septet is a rich instrumental mix (trumpet, violin, cello, drums, percussion, keyboards, and of course electric guitar) that projects a deeply symphonic resonance.
