Detroit 2008: Hummer HX Concept

So here's the Hummer's Wrangler-competitor in concept form, complete with a 3.6-liter SIDI E85 FlexFuel engine which sends power to all four wheels via a six-speed auto 'box.

The HX is technically a convertible, meaning that the roof panels and modular rear can open or be stowed, while the interior instruments can be reconfigured depending on the type of driving you'll be doing.

Detroit Preview: Hummer HX Concept

GM has revealed first pictures of the Hummer HX Concept. This concept has designed by David Rojas, Min Young Kang and Robert Jablonski, recent new-hires of the GM Design division.

The press release states that the E85 Flex Fuel-capable HX Concept features a pair of removable roof panels, as well as a removable rear roof. The car carries the body style of the original HUMMER H1, or like us you're seeing a lot of the Toyota FJ Cruiser in the shape, too. The doors and fenders can also be removed for off-roading adventures.
