A version of Toyota's iQ concept, which has orginally shown in Frankfurt, is rumored to begin production next year. According to Automotive News, the little city runner will be powered by a motorcycle-derived Yamaha engine. The two Japanese firms are currently collaborating on a new 1.0-liter engine based on one of Yamaha's motorcycle powerplants.
Toyota is expected to produce around 100,000 units, when sales begin in 2009.

Frankfurt 2007: Lexus GS

At Frankfurt Motor Show made Lexus European debut of the IS-F and worldwide debut of the 2008 GS 450h. The 2008 Lexus GS 450h shows how the standard GS models will be updated for the 2008 model year. A new front bumper and tweaked headlight design, new side mirrors with integrated turn signals are the most obvious changes. The interior gets updated too, but we'll have to wait a couple of weeks to see the interior of the car. Also there is a new "active stabilizer system" available on the GS 450h to improve the car's handling.
