Spy Shots: Peugeot 3008

Along the 807, Peugeot plans to add another and smaller minivan to its lineup. The midsize will be based on the Peugeot 308, and will be called 3008.

With an attractive design, the minivan will compete with the Citroën C4 Picasso, Renault Scénic, Opel Zafira and Volkswagen Touran. Peugeot's new people mover will offer a handful of attractive features such as sliding doors, full seven-seating capacity, high roof, tire pressure sensors, audible passenger seatbelt warnings, dual-zone climate control, hands-free Bluetooth wireless phone kits and new entertainment equipment packages.

A range of gasoline and diesel engines will be offered. A new 2.4-liter engine would be the top shelf of the car's engine offerings.

Volkswagen To Name Chrysler Based Minivan Routan

Volkswagen has announced that it will unveils its version of the Chrysler LLC minivan at the Chicago Auto Show in early February, and that its name will be Routan.

The Routan is good news for Chrysler, which will use up some excess production capacity at its Windsor, Ontario plant by building VW's minivan alongside the Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town and Country.
