Cadillac XLR Update For 2009

Recent reports say that Cadillac will be launching a redesigned version of their XLR roadster in the summer of 2009. Sporting an updated exterior and interior, the new model hopes to continue the success of the new CTS and CTS-V.
Since its 2004 debut, the current XLR has only seen the introduction of a V-series and minor interior updates. With the introduction of Jaguar’s XK models and with forthcoming freshened Mercedes SL, the XLR was being old for competition.
The current XLR uses a 4.6L Northstar V8 which produces 320 and enables the car to go , while the XLR-V uses a 4.4L supercharged engine that is rated at 443hp and goes from 0-60mph in 4.6 seconds. While GM has stopped development of new Northstar engines, the next XLR could have engines used in the Corvette.

Detroit 2008: Cadillac Provoq Fuel Cell Concept

Following the introductions of the Chevrolet Volt and Opel Flextreme during 2007 auto show season, Cadillac is bringing forth a third design based on the E-Flex architecture. The Provoq Fuel Cell Concept. A luxury crossover design with environment friendly engine.
With updated Cadillac styling cues on a 180-inch long CUV body, it's stretched 10 inches longer than a Volt to allow comfortable seating for five passengers. The Provoq is built around GM's fifth-generation fuel cell stack combined with a 9kWh lithium ion battery pack. The electrical energy is used to power a 70kW AC motor driving the front wheels and a pair of 40kW hub motors at each rear corner. Like the other E-Flex vehicles, the Provoq has plug-in capability and the battery has enough capacity for about twenty miles of driving range. Combined with the 6kg of compressed hydrogen gas stored in its two tanks, the Provoq has a total range of about 300 miles.

Officially Unveiled: Cadillac Escalade Hybrid

Cadillac released the full info and tech specs on the 2009 Cadillac Escalade Hybrid. The Cadillac Escalade Hybrid uses the exact same 2-Mode hybrid powertrain as both the Yukon and Tahoe hybrids. Unlike its platform cousins, however, the Escalade does not incorporate any weight-saving measures.
According to GM, the use of the hybrid system increases fuel economy by at least 50% anyway. If you figure that the standard 6.2L Escalade is good for 9 or 10 real-world MPG combined, it should be good for at least 18 mpg or so on the highway. If the Escalade really can actually get mileage, it's very impressive.
The car can be on the floor in Miami this week.
