Future Of The Car Freaks Blog
Hi Friends,
I wanted to let you know something about the future of my blog. Despite the fact that I really like writing about cars and posting the latest auto news for you, because of my education I have to stay away from the internet for a while.
So, Car Freaks Blog will no longer be updated on a regular basis as of March 1 unless I found a Co-Author ( If interested look here). I will update the blog now and then and all old post will remain.

CarFreakGeneva 2008 Preview: Alfa Romeo To Debut Updated Brera And Spider

While Alfa Romeo has disappointed its fans with the push back of the possible Junior debut, the Italian automaker still has some gorgeous cars to show next week in Geneva. Next week Alfa Romeo will be unveiling updated versions of the Brera and Spider models.
These cars already look awesome, so Alfa hasn't messed with the award-winning design to any great extent. The wheels, brake calipers and suspension components have been replaced with lighter-weight aluminum versions, which should help address the cars' lamentably underwhelming performance relative to its design by taking a chunk out of its unsprung weight. The subtle changes continue inside, where redesigned seats offer a sportier and more ergonomic driving position. The dashboard has been updated as well to integrate a new dual-zone climate control system and a new sat-nav unit.A new 185hp 2.2-liter four joins the 260hp 3.2-liter six and 210hp 2.4-liter JTDM turbodiesel, mated to a variety of six-speed transmissions.

Cadillac XLR Update For 2009

Recent reports say that Cadillac will be launching a redesigned version of their XLR roadster in the summer of 2009. Sporting an updated exterior and interior, the new model hopes to continue the success of the new CTS and CTS-V.
Since its 2004 debut, the current XLR has only seen the introduction of a V-series and minor interior updates. With the introduction of Jaguar’s XK models and with forthcoming freshened Mercedes SL, the XLR was being old for competition.
The current XLR uses a 4.6L Northstar V8 which produces 320 and enables the car to go , while the XLR-V uses a 4.4L supercharged engine that is rated at 443hp and goes from 0-60mph in 4.6 seconds. While GM has stopped development of new Northstar engines, the next XLR could have engines used in the Corvette.

The 50-year old rear-engine drivetrain allows the right balance of size and cargo space. All the seats, except the driver's, fold down and can be removed, and once out they can be stored in the front-trunk or in the rear cargo area.
There aren't more information because VW hasn't released the official release yet.
