Auto Bild breaks the embargo on the Chrysler minivan based Volkswagen Routan. The new 2009 VW Routan takes its styling cues from the current VW lineup. But gets its minivan look from Dodge.
As seen in the spy shots before, the minivan has Passat-like tailights. The minivan is built at Chrysler's factory in Windsor/Ontario Canada. The base model will have a price tag around 25.000 US-Dollar( 17.000 Euro). With its 5,14 meter length, 1,95 meter (without mirrors ) width and 1,75 meter height gives place to 7 people. When the all of the seats reclined the minivan offers 4100 liter cargo space. 2350 liter when five seats used and even all of the seats used there's still 926 liter luggage.
Along the 4.0L V6 with 253 HP and 355 Nm lb.-ft. of torque. There will be a 3.8L V6 with 197 HP and 312 Nm lb.-ft. of torque. With these engine offerings the minivan goes 0-60 about 9,0/10,5 seconds. VW doesn't plan any diesel engine yet. VW Routan will be on sale in Summer 2008.
