Future Of The Car Freaks Blog

Hi Friends,

I wanted to let you know something about the future of my blog. Despite the fact that I really like writing about cars and posting the latest auto news for you, because of my education I have to stay away from the internet for a while.

So, Car Freaks Blog will no longer be updated on a regular basis as of March 1 unless I found a Co-Author ( If interested look here). I will update the blog now and then and all old post will remain.

Auto Bild Unveils Audi Q5

After breaking the embargo of the VW Routan, German car magazine Auto Bild has this time unveiled the Audi Q5. Well we're not sure if these are official images from Audi or just good photoshops.

The front end seems to be a nice mixture of the Audi A4 and the Q7 fascias, while everything aft of the A-pillar looks like the Q5's big brother at two-thirds scale. The rear light seems like carried over from Audi's show vehicles, including the Cross Cabriolet Concept.

The Audi Q5 will be officially unveiled next month in Geneva.

Auto Bild Breakes Embargo On The VW Routan

German car magazine Auto Bild breaks the embargo on the Chrysler minivan based Volkswagen Routan. The new 2009 VW Routan takes its styling cues from the current VW lineup. But gets its minivan look from Dodge.

As seen in the spy shots before, the minivan has Passat-like tailights. The minivan is built at Chrysler's factory in Windsor/Ontario Canada. The base model will have a price tag around 25.000 US-Dollar( 17.000 Euro). With its 5,14 meter length, 1,95 meter (without mirrors ) width and 1,75 meter height gives place to 7 people. When the all of the seats reclined the minivan offers 4100 liter cargo space. 2350 liter when five seats used and even all of the seats used there's still 926 liter luggage.

Along the 4.0L V6 with 253 HP and 355 Nm lb.-ft. of torque. There will be a 3.8L V6 with 197 HP and 312 Nm lb.-ft. of torque. With these engine offerings the minivan goes 0-60 about 9,0/10,5 seconds. VW doesn't plan any diesel engine yet. VW Routan will be on sale in Summer 2008.

New Saab 9-3

The new Saab 9-3 for 2008 is set to make its international debut at the Saab Festival in Trollhattan, Sweden, on Sunday June 10th, 2007-the 60th anniversary of the unveiling of the first Saab-, the 2008 Saab 9-3 will have an option for a new all-wheel-drive system.The car will also feature a new active stability control program.

The new 9-3 will likely be available shortly after it's unveiling.

Facelift:Corolla Verso

Facelifted version of Toyota's compact MPV Corolla Verso will debut in June at Barcelona Motor Show.The 136 HP diesel version has now also a particul filter.

You have to look really careful to realize the changes.The Verso has just changed lamps at the front and new taillights.In the interior there is a new MP3-Soundsystem...
