Walmart Does Not Want to Get 'Stuck' Behind the Latest Ad Trends

Walmart along with The Martin agency have created a fun new TV spot as part of the retail giants clear intention to regain some of it's former successes. Simply titled 'Stuck', the cute commercial features an eclectic and strange shopping list, that in the end helps a kid get out of a tight situation. These family oriented ads have proven successful this year with popular spots like Volkswagen 'The Force' leading the trend. With that in mind Walmart have created the perfect advertisement to renew their low price styled mantra campaigns. Replacing the former 'Save Money, Live Better' the new spots slogan 'Low Prices. Every Day. On Everything', is a great start for a familiar direction.

StubHub Hopes for a Dream Like Experience for Their First Ever TV Ad

A companies inaugural TV commercial is always an important one, as it both sets the tone for future campaigns and will often be a viewers first impression of the advertiser.  Similar to Groupon's successful jump into mainstream advertising,  now the world's  largest event ticket website StubHub is hoping to brand themselves as the place to go to get dream tickets for any event.  Continuing that  dream theme, StubHub and ad agency  Duncan/Channon have created a fantasy filled  TV spot titled 'Concert', that  includes a foot rubbing rock star and a tiger in a hot tub.  And just like a dream, StubHubs is hoping you don't forget this one.

Lamptan 'Elephant' Gas Ad Smells Like a Bright Idea

I love it when small virtually unknown companies come up with commercials that can compete with their big budget multinational competitors. I'm talking to you General Electric. Case in point is this privately owned florescent lighting company based out of Thailand called Lamptan Lighting Technology, who have created a funny new shoe string budget TV spot to promote their Setronic lights. All this clever ad needed was an elephant, a fan and a brave Mahout named Peter to lift the tail of a flatulent pachyderm.

Orkin Takes No 'Vacation' with their New Ad Campaign

These have to be the nastiest rats to ever be featured in an advertising campaign. Not only are the realistic looking rats ugly as sin, they have quite a mean streak too. Ad agency The Richards Group and Orkin have done a great job in creating a spot that is both funny and a little disturbing, just like the exterminating business itself.

No Need to 'Change' a Thing with New FedEx TV Ad

From Toronto based ad agency BBDO comes a funny new FedEx TV spot that highlights that Canadian "Dry" sense of humor. As a fitting type homage to the late great Canadian comedic actor Leslie Nielson (Naked Gun, Airplane), this ad also features that straight face delivery he made famous. Filled with clever yet absurd situations, this commercial does not attempt to re-invent the wheel, even though the boss may have the time to do so.

Dragee Keeps a Positive Mind in Mentos 'Blade' Ad

Mentos has always been known for creating funny off-beat commercials ever since they released their iconic "fresh maker" spots back in the early 90's. The dutch mint candy latest ad campaign feature Dragee, the unwavering martial arts instructor who keeps it positive, even when his blind-folded demonstration goes very wrong.

Give a Big Hand for the New Skittles 'Fist' Commercial

Skittles delivers another one of their great off-beat TV spots with their latest ad 'Fist'. The strange spot features two clueless guys attempt to come up with a plan to get out of a pair of large clenched fists. Much like previous Skittles gags such as the man who turns everything he touches into skittles and the skittle dripping ceiling, this 'Fist' premise is just as absurd and just as entertaining.

Anyone Order A Subway 'Fatty, Fat, Fat' Ad

With the hundreds of commercials that feature the fast food line-up scenario, it is a rare achievement for one to catch your attention and still be somewhat entertaining. Reminiscent of Saturday Night Live's classic John Belushi sketch "Pepsi, Pepsi, Pepsi", Subway's latest ad campaign 'Fatty, Fat, Fat' is just as funny and more importantly for the advertising world, just as memorable. The great comedic performances from the young unknown commercial actors make this spot a pleasant surprise.

Planet Fitness 'Lift Things Up' In Their Funny New Ad

You would think the old Schwarzenegger inspired body builder imitations would be getting old now that he is a Governor, but this ad from Planet Fitness proves the gag still works. In the same vain as Saturday Night Lives famous "We'll pump you up" line, this ad is banking on their catch phrase "I lift things up and put them down", to become as memorable, and in time as annoying. But that is how catch phrases work and I'm positive you will catch yourself saying it to your friends after your first viewing.

Blockbuster TV Commercial "Raccoon"

Recently Blockbuster has seen significant revenue loss due to main competitor Netflix and are currently under Chapter 11 bankruptcy, so this television ad campaign has more riding on it than usual. Blockbuster's attempt to recapture their dominance in the DVD and video game rental market will be an uphill battle but this TV commercial is a small step in the right direction. The funny TV spots main message is why wait 28 days to get new releases as it features a guy getting bit by a rabid raccoon as he rushes to the emergency room. Just like this unfortunate soul, only time will tell if Blockbuster itself will be taken off life support or given another chance to survive.

This funny new ad for AT&T titled Taco Party is a hilarious look at office politics and social networking. V Energy Drink Ads Mothball and BeetleBall Commercials

The Colony (www.the-colony.com) director James Rogers recently lensed two new advertisements for the Australian energy drink V Energy in collaboration with Post Modern Sydney.

The national campaign, released in Australia and New Zealand, gives a new
spin to V Energy's familiar brand theme of extreme sports and insects in
their spots. In the first spot, Rogers animated bug characters invent a
new game called Mothball (inspired by baseball). This game uses actual
moths as balls that are hurtled through the air squeaking and squealing.
Rogers says "We needed to be family friendly but at the same time
tongue-in-cheek to keep with the energy drink's branding. We looked to
famous baseball films such as Bull Durham and The Natural as inspiration
for setting the scene. I wanted to nod to the powerful visual language in
those films, there are some very distinctive camera angles and framing we
wanted to salute without directly copying."

Rogers continues, "The most fun part of the collaboration was working with
the animators. They brought a lot of nice, unexpected moments to each scene
little things like the insects eyeball movements and odd hand gestures
that affect the pacing."

Regarding the technical process, he says,"We worked primarily in Maya 3D,
Nuke 2D and finally in Flame. I also added quite a few real elements such as
dust in the air and actual shot lens flares. We then worked a lot with
shaders to make sure we got the light just right for the characters. I think
you can see this atmospheric grittiness in the final spot."

Rogers uses insect-themed branding again in his second spot for V Energy,
titled Beetleball. This time we are introduced to Barry "The Bullet"
Kowalski, an athletic bull ant who drinks V energy for strength to play with
his ball, a slater beetle.

Rogers remarks, "The spot apes overly slick sport-endorsements with much
inspiration coming from the 1980¹s." Key lighting was essential in achieving
this effect, he says. "I looked to light it in a way you don't often see CG
characters lit. I approached the lighting like you would a real set in that
situation, as I imagined one would in the 80s."

He continues, "The chance to make an animation piece which pretty much
revolves around a single character was fun. There are odd challenges in
that, such as not being able to edit around a scene as much. To create a
compelling character and establish him in 15 seconds was important too."

Jose Cuervo Ad Campaign | Adventures of Three Buddies

Three great new commercials for Jose Cuervo "A Shot Of Adventure". The first ad is titled Men's Business.

Jose Cuervo | Sold Out Spot

Jose Cuervo | Road Trip

The adventure is on with a new three ad Jose Cuervo campaign from Gorgeous@Anonymous Content Director Tom Carty. Working via JWT New York, Carty compactly delivers, in the series of :15s, the freewheeling sensibilities of Cuervo tequila as cleanly as a shot of the famous liquor.

Each ad follows the adventures of a group of buddies who tip back a shot of Cuervo and find good times rolling in. Men's Business begins with the trio lined up at a row of urinals below graffiti that reads "Good times, be here; 8:00 Tuesday." As the clock strikes the hour, a grinning miscreant bursts through the door and leads the gang on a rollicking evening of foosball, pool, shots, and mechanical bull-riding. In Road Trip, the group finds a drifter locked in their trunk when their tire blows out. They join the mystery man for a round at a roadside bar before he scrams when his face appears beneath a "wanted" headline on the local news. In Sold Out, the clique finds they weren't so clever when they pay off a shiesty doorman to enter a jam-packed concert from the alley, only to find themselves at a bizarre fashion show. In the end, however, they're throwing back shots post-show with the models.

Cadbury has opted for the vocal talents of Tina Turner's hit ‘We Don't Need Another Hero" in its new ad, created by Fallon, for its Crunchie Rocks bagged sweet.
